National Library books settle into new home at SNFCC
Equipped with masks and gloves, two National Library employees place books on the shelves in one of the reading rooms at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in southern Athens, in a photo released on Tuesday. A project to transfer the books from their old home in the city center to the SNFCC, subsidized with 500,000 euros of state funding, is expected to have been completed in three months’ time. Once that is done, restoration work is to be carried out on the building that used to house the National Library, a part of the so-called Neoclassical Trilogy. [Nikos Kokkalias]
