City traffic restrictions end for summer
As of Friday, and for the next few weeks, Athenian drivers will not have to look out for the sign showing they have entered the city center’s restricted traffic zone. The restrictions are based on whether a vehicle’s number plate ends in an odd or even number. The system is designed to reduce congestion in downtown Athens but is suspended every summer due to reduced traffic. [Vassilis Rouggos/Eurokinissi]
