Biden calls for partial debt write-off

Former US vice president Joe Biden reads Wednesday's issue of Kathimerini English Edition during the Concordia Europe Summit held in Athens. Biden told the summit that part of Greece’s huge debt must be written off in order to resolve the country’s financial crisis and spur a recovery. The former vice president met on Wednesday with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and discussed regional developments, including energy, the Cyprus talks and economic ties between Greece and the United States, which, he said, were strengthened further during the administration of Barack Obama.
