New church dedicated to Saint Luke the Surgeon to open in Nafplio

The finishing touches were being put over the weekend on the new Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Luke the Surgeon, Archbishop of Crimea, on the outskirts of Nafplio in the northern Peloponnese. Slated for inauguration next Saturday, the church contains icons and wood-carvings executed by Russian masters and will also have a small museum in the basement dedicated to its patron saint.
