OAED’s work experience scheme fully booked on first day
All the positions in a program by the government’s Manpower Organization (OAED) for unemployed people aged 25-29 were filled on the day the applications went online. Some 3,000 positions had been created for high school, college and university graduates in order for them to gain work experience. A similar scheme for 18- to 24-year-olds, with 10,000 available positions, is also available. At almost 50 percent, down from nearly 60 percent in 2013, Greece has among the worst youth unemployment figures in the European Union due in part to the ongoing crisis.
