Workers march against mass layoffs
Workers from a phosphate fertilizer company in the village of Nea Karvali, near the northern Greek town of Kavala, demonstrate in central Athens against the mass layoffs of their colleagues and what they describe as the trampling of their labor rights, Tuesday. Protesters gathered outside the Labor Ministry and blocked central Stadiou Street for a while before heading to the Greek Parliament and submitting a petition with their demands. They also asked to meet with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. Greece is bracing for a new round of talks about labor reform with its lenders.
