Refugees wait for a pre-registration process in Greece
Refugees and migrants attend a pre-registration process at the refugee camp in the former international Elliniko airport in Athens, Monday. Around 1,200 persons were pre-registered in Athens and Thessaloniki in the first three days of operation of the new program on international protection requests implemented by the Asylum Service in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the European Support Office on Asylum (EASO). The program will last two months and aims to pre-register all applicants who have entered the country from January 1, 2015 until March 19, 2016.
