TANKERS Market at steady levels despite lesser inquiry. – In the Med., 80,000-ton cargoes are still being fixed at W/S 430, while Suezmaxes are at W/S 360. – BP on Suezmax has fixed M/T «Kamlesh» for 135,000 tons of cargo, loading Nov. 11 Black Sea, discharging UK, at W/S 360, while M/T «Stemnitsa,» loading Nov. 17 Novorossisk, discharging Med., was fixed at same levels. – On Aframaxes in the Med., CSSA, for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading Nov. 13 Tunisia, discharging Med., has fixed Minerva tonnage at W/S 435, while M/T «Hellas Warrior,» for same cargo, loading Nov. 8 Libya, discharging Italy, was fixed at W/S 430. – In N. Sea, Dreyfus has fixed M/T «Astro Sirius» for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading Nov. 2 UK, discharging Germany, at W/S 320, while Sinochem, for 100,000 tons of cargo, loading Nov. 17, discharging US Gulf – USAC, has fixed M/T «Moscow River» at W/S 345 – W/S 350 respectively. – In Caribs, Stusco, for 70,000 tons of cargo, loading Oct. 26 East Coast Mexico, discharging US Gulf, has fixed M/T «Tjore Fremang» at W/S 425, while Marathon, for same cargo, loading Nov. 5, with same destination, has fixed M/T «Aegean Freedom» at W/S 430. – The W. Africa market for Suezmaxes is quieter and it seems that tonnage is reasonably spread out. – VLCCs very active out of the same area, with BP having fixed M/T «Atl. Prosperity» for 260,000 tons of cargo, loading Nov. 20, discharging US Gulf, at W/S 225. – Out of Arabian Gulf, Idemitsu has fixed M/T «Majestic Unity» for 260,000 tons of cargo, loading Nov. 29, discharging Japan, at W/S 290, while Formosa, for 255,000 tons of cargo, loading Nov. 20, discharging Taiwan, has fixed M/T «Apollo» at W/S 255. DRY CARGO Market on the same path, with the Biffex index gaining 42 points on Monday, totaling 4,828. – Capers as well as the Panamax index similarly have gained 55 and 58 points respectively, totaling 6,426 and 4,719. – On Capers, Swiss Marine has fixed M/V «Sg Enterprise,» 211,485 dwt, built 1997, delivery China Nov. 6-12, trip via S. Africa, redelivery UKC, at USD 55,000 daily. – In Far East and on Panamaxes, Daeyang has fixed M/V «Nord Sun,» 76,500 dwt, built 2004, delivery Japan end-Oct., redelivery Taiwan, at USD 40,500 daily. – In Atlantic, PCL has fixed M/V «Alpha Melody,» 74,374 dwt, built 2002, delivery Amsterdam 1-2 Nov. for 4-6 months’ trading at USD 39,750 daily. – On smaller sizes, Vitol has fixed M/V «Top Pioneer,» 29,952 dwt, built 1999, delivery Brazil end-Oct., redelivery Black Sea, at USD 26,500 daily and USD 375,000 ballast bonus.
