Stop the Brexit clock, Cyprus FinMin tells Bloomberg
“We should stop the clock on Brexit, take a pause, postpone the exit,” Cyprus Finance Minister Haris Georgiades said Tuesday in an interview with Bloomberg in Brussels.
“'Considering where we are; we fully respect the Brexit decision but exiting without a deal, without an arrangement is unthinkable,” Georgiades said.
“'Let’s not make things more complicated than they are, let’s take some more time, let’s request a small extension in order to get a deal.”
Georgiades also spoke about the Cyprus economy and Eurozone economic growth. Cyprus is preparing to tap international markets after early repayments. Citi, Goldman, HSBC roadshows are underway in London, Paris, Munich and Milan. [Kathimerini Cyprus]
