Elliniko delays put September target at risk
Culture Minister Lydia Koniordou on Thursday backtracked on a decision to request the reassessment of the status of several buildings at the old Athens airport in Elliniko, following Kathimerini’s revelation that she wanted three more buildings in the area to be listed after her ministry’s Central Council for Modern Monuments had decided on only one.
Even so, the delivery of the plot to the chosen bidder, the Lamda Development-led consortium, has missed all timetable provisions.
This means the goal of completing the transaction and delivery of the plot by September – a target included in the adjusted bailout agreement – could be missed.
