Aktor lands Faliro Bay project
Construction company Aktor on Thursday won the tender for the first phase of regeneration works at Faliro Bay in southern Athens.
The discount the company offered exceeded 50 percent, reducing the cost for the state to 80.3 million euros. The auction of the project was quite a feat for the Regional Authority of Attica, as having undertaken the project’s concession less than six months ago, it has managed to compete what had been repeatedly postponed over the last three years.
Aktor won the tender offering a discount to the budgeted cost amounting to 53.54 percent. It was followed by Intrakat with 53.24 percent, J&P Avax with 51.48 percent, and Terna with 43.75 percent. Recently there also were offers with discounts of 43.42 percent by Tekal-Oberosler, 41.92 percent by Porto Karras, 41.10 percent by Condotte Italiana and 36.73 percent by METKA.
“The tender went well. There was great interest,” Christos Karamanos, deputy regional authority leader for finance, told Kathimerini. “Our aim is for the project to proceed with speed and quality and constitute an example of how projects can be implemented by the local authorities.”
The competence for the auction of the project was transferred from the Infrastructures Ministry to the Regional Authority just last August.
