Second review of Greek program could take up until March, EU official tells MNI
The second review of Greece’s bailout program could take up until March, an unnamed European Union official told the German MNI news agency on Wednesday.
The same official criticized IMF staff for publishing a blog post on the way forward for Greece's fiscal and economic policy that exposed a row between the lenders over Athens’s bailout. The article had come at a “bad timing,” the official said.
Earlier Wednesday, a German finance ministry spokesman told Reuters that Berlin had asked the institutions involved in Greece’s aid program to assess whether Greek reforms were compatible with the country’s bailout obligations.
“We expect swift clarification on this issue so that the implementation of short-term measures on the debt side is not delayed,” the spokesman told Reuters.
