Greece jobless rate at 24.1 percent
Greece's unemployment rate dropped for the second successive month in March – though marginally – according to data from the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) released on Thursday.
The seasonally-adjusted jobless rate in March was 24.1 percent, compared with 24.2 percent in February, and 25.7 percent in March 2015.
The number of unemployed people fell by 4,609 from February and by 68,045 from March 2015, ELSTAT said. Meanwhile, the number of employed people grew by 1,632 monthly in March and by 87,296 compared with the same month last year.
Youth unemployment was still above the 50 percent mark. According to the data, 50.4 percent of the workforce aged between 15 and 24 were unemployed, down from 52.1 a year ago.
