Lagarde says Greece still has work to do on reforms
The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde says Greece was not a topic among G-7 leaders meeting in Japan but noted that Greek authorities still have work to do on reforms, according to a report by Bloomberg.
“Everybody wanted to avoid having a Grexit discussion at the same time as the Brexit discussion, so that’s achieved,’’ Lagarde was quoted as telling reporters after the G7 in Ise-Shima.
‘‘On the reform front, the Greek authorities have looked forward, they still have some works to do. We will continue to work with the Europeans on the implementation of measures, on what level of debt we are providing is needed for the Greek debt to be sustainable," Lagarde was quoted as saying.
