Banks to seal their return to profits in Q1 results
Greek banks are preparing for their official return to profits after six years of consecutive losses, as the financial figures for the first quarter are expected to be published as of Tuesday, when Eurobank issues its Q1 results.
Analysts expect an increase in Eurobank’s revenues, and a reduction in expenditure and new nonperforming loans.
The same pattern is expected from the results of the other systemic lenders. Piraeus Bank will issue its first-quarter results on Wednesday, May 25, National will follow a day later and Alpha will release its own results on Tuesday, May 31.
