Greek debt relief ‘not up for debate at the moment,’ German FinMin spokesman says

A Greek debt write-down is currently not an issue for Berlin, a spokesman for Germany’s Finance Ministry has said.

"A debt haircut is not up for debate at the moment," spokesman Martin Jaeger told a news conference on Monday.

Jaeger added it would be realistic to expect the review of the Greek program by its creditors to be wrapped up by late April or early May.

“We both believe that Germany and the IMF won’t be divided over this,” he said.

“We still regard it as realistic that we will manage this review by the Greek Easter fest at the end of April, beginning of May.”
