Greek-owned merchant fleet breaks another record
The Greek-owned fleet has registered another record high for the last 12 months.
Greek shippers owned a total of 4,092 vessels on February 23, up 35 from a year earlier, with a combined capacity of 320,597,574 deadweight tons (dwt), up 6,141,123 year-on-year, according to the annual report of the Greek Shipping Co-Operation Committee in London.
The number of vessels includes 347 ships of various types that are still under construction at shipyards around the world.
Still, the Greek register shrank by 30 ships to 809.
