Unemployment decreases in October, agency says
Greece’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in October 2015 stood at 24.5 percent, down from 26 percent in the same month in 2014 and compared to 24.6 percent in September 2015, the Hellenic Statistical Authority, ELSTAT, announced on Thursday.
The number of employed came to 3,630,449 people, the number of unemployed stood at 1,175,903, while the number of people defined as inactive came to 3,267,487, the agency said.
Female unemployment stood at 28.7 percent against 21 percent in the male department, ELSTAT reported, while the highest unemployment rates in relation to age were recorded in the 15-24 (48.6 percent) and 25-34 (30.9 percent) age groups.
