HSBC whistleblower hands over list with ‘suspicious international transactions’
HSBC whistleblower Herve Falciani has handed over details on thousands of allegedly suspicious international transactions to the Greek government, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has said.
Speaking during Wednesday’s cabinet meeting, Tsipras said the former HSBC official in Switzerland passed on the information, saved on a USB stick, to the government’s general secretary, Michalis Kalogirou, during a meeting outside Greece last week.
“Such initiatives will continue and developments will unfold very fast because this is a government with strong political will,” Tsipras said.
