Drop in retail commerce sales reaches 3.2 pct in September
Retail sales posted a 3.2 percent annual decline in September, according to official data released on Monday by the Hellenic Statistical Authority.
Compared with August, the figures showed a decline of 8.5 percent. While spending on apparel enjoyed a 9.7 percent year-on-year increase and on books and stationery items 8.3 percent, spending on furniture and homeware decreased by 6.1 percent drop, on fuel and car lubricants by 6.4 percent, at department stores by 5.5 percent and at major food retailers by 3.4 percent.
