Economic sentiment improves in October

Window-shopping was the order of the day at the start of the fall sales on Sunday and on Monday, but the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) reported an improvement in Greece’s economic sentiment index in October to 86.5 points from 83.1 points in September.

However, it remained significantly below the October 2014 reading, of 102.3 points, as well as those in the first half of this year before the capital controls were imposed.

IOBE noted that firms and consumers are feeling more secure as a result of the bailout agreement.
