ATHEX: Bourse quiet as polls near
Traders’ anticipation of the US Federal Reserve’s moves and the outcome of national elections on Sunday left the benchmark of the Greek bourse virtually unchanged on Thursday, with turnover dropping again.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 692.30 points, slipping just 0.02 percent from Wednesday’s 692.44 points. The large-cap FTSE 25 index advanced 0.34 percent to 202.73 points.
METKA, which landed a contract in Ghana, grew 3.89 percent, while Jumbo lost 4.60 percent.
In total 40 stocks expanded, 42 declined and 22 stayed put. Turnover amounted to 45 million euros, down from Wednesday’s 50.6 million.
