TANKERS The VLCCs market remains strong with a limited supply of tonnage in the Arabian Gulf with regard to expected cargoes. – Rates for Far East at around W/S 115 and are shortly expected to reach W/S 120. – Repsol has fixed M/T «Astro Leon» for 275,000 tons of cargo, loading Dec. 10, discharging Spain, at W/S 97.5, while Stasco has fixed M/T «New Victory» for same cargo, loading Dec. 3, discharging UKC / Far East, at W/S 95 – W/S 109.75, respectively. – Suezmaxes quieter, not only in W. Africa but in the Med. as well. – Aframaxes stable in the Med. and Cont., with Vitol having fixed M/T «Iran Amol» for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading Nov. 20-21, discharging Med., at W/S 207.5, while CSSA has fixed M/T «Bergitta» for same cargo, loading Nov. 17, discharging UKC, at W/S 185. – Caribs are firming, with Valero having fixed M/T «Falster Spirit» for 70,000 tons of cargo, loading Nov. 23, discharging USAC – US Gulf, at W/S 212.5. – In the Med., Karran for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading Nov. 19 Black Sea, discharging Med., has fixed M/T «Kriti Mountain» at W/S 177.5. – In Cont., N. Hydro for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading Nov. 11 N. Sea, discharging UKC, has fixed M/T «Navion Scotia» at W/S 185. – In Caribs, Marathon has fixed M/T «Genmar Baltic» for 70,000 tons of cargo, loading Nov. 19 East Coast Mexico, discharging US Gulf, at W/S 205. – In W. Africa and on VLCCs, Stasco has fixed M/T «Astro Cygnus» for 260,000 tons of cargo, loading Dec. 5, discharging US Gulf, at W/S 100. DRY CARGO Quieter conditions with Biffex and particular indices softening. – Biffex index dropped by 34 points on Nov. 4, totaling at 4,524, while the bulkcarriers index fell by 3 points, totaling 6,656. – Panamaxes have lost 94 point totaling 4,390. – The number of the fixtures was also limited. – On Capers and on coal cargoes, Total has fixed SK Shipping tonnage for 150,000 tons of cargo, loading Dec. 15-30 Richards Bay, discharging Rotterdam, at USD 26.00 per ton with two-day load and 25,000 tons discharge. – On Panamax in Pacific, Chokang has fixed M/V «Maria Salamon,» 74,117 dwt, built 2000, delivery China mid-Nov. for 2 legs, redelivery Far East, at USD 40,000 daily. – In Atlantic, Keoyang has fixed M/V «Endeavor,» 71,200 dwt, built 1996, delivery Portugal Nov. 10-20, trip via US Gulf, redelivery Japan, at USD 34,900 daily. – On smaller sizes, Noble has fixed M/V «Pataliputra,» 47,303 dwt, built 1986, delivery East Coast India Nov. 11-16, redelivery Far East, at USD 24,000 daily. – On coal cargoes, Total has fixed SK Shipping tonnage for 150,000 tons of cargo, loading Dec. 15-30 Richards Bay (S. Africa), discharging Rotterdam, at USD 26.00 per ton with two-day load and 25,000 days’ discharge.
