Fearing a default, foreign firms cancel events

Foreign companies have canceled a number of corporate events originally scheduled to take place in Greece by the year?s end, while applications to hold events in this country in 2012 are considerably fewer, conference organization experts say.

They suggest that a US firm has called off a November event in Athens, while a European carmaker has canceled the presentation of a new model in the Greek capital it had scheduled for December.

A source has told Kathimerini foreign firms fear for their deposits should there be a credit event in Greece.
