Cross-checking for offenders on wheels starts this month

This month authorities are starting to perform extensive cross checks in order to detect uninsured vehicles, those that have not passed a technical inspection (KTEO) or vehicles that circulate illegally without paying road tax.

The checks, implemented by the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Governance in collaboration with the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), will be conducted once every six months, according to the plan.

The fines for violators will start from 250 euros and may reach – depending on the violation – €30,000 in the case of repeat offenders.
