Spanish hotel giant strikes deal for another hotel on Crete

Spanish hotel chain Melia Hotels International seeks to further expand its portfolio in Greece and has reached a franchise agreement with its fifth hotel in the country.

This is a franchise agreement, for the INNSiDE by Melia brand, and concerns the Elounda Ilion hotel in Elounda, eastern Crete, which belongs to the extended family of director and actor Christoforos Papakaliatis, famed for his role in the TV series ‘Maestro,’ now on Netflix.

The family already has a partnership with the Spanish giant involving other units.

The multinational manages over 350 hotels in 40 countries and has two hotels on Crete, one on Rhodes and one in the center of Athens.
