Leading Greek industrialists call for a European restart
Two leading Greek businessmen, Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) President Dimitris Papalexopoulos and Eurometaux President Evangelos Mytilineos, expressed their anxiety about the future of the European Union, speaking at an event by the federation ahead of next month’s European elections.
“Europe is struggling to find its way,” said Papalexopoulos, referring to shrinking competitiveness and low growth.
Mytilineos, who heads the listed group bearing his name, also addressed the lack of competitiveness, underlined the strengthening of geopolitical risks and referred to the problem posed by the rise of populism in Europe.
