Grand Masoutis opens in Glyfada
Five years after its arrival in Athens, the Masoutis supermarket chain has been operating its first “Grand Store” in the capital since last week. The goal is to have its second one in Attica, at Treis Gefyres, operating within a year, with the investment plan providing for two more large stores in Athens in the next phase.
Masoutis is also targeting the Peloponnese market, where so far it has a very small presence, with the northern Greek chain planning the development of 15 stores.
According to last week’s announcements on the sidelines of the opening of the Grand Masoutis in Glyfada by the president and managing director of Masoutis, Yannis Masoutis, and the general manager of the chain, Theodoros Gerostergioudis, total investments of 20-22 million euros are planned in 2024, a key part of which will be the opening of 10-12 stores.
This amount does not include the investment at Treis Gefyres, west of the center. It is recalled that the investment in question provides for the creation of a supermarket of some 2,000 square meters, a store that will be ready at the end of 2024, and the construction of two nine-story apartment buildings with a total of 110 apartments on the same plot.
The budget of this investment exceeds €40 million. Masoutis plans to create two more supermarkets in the capital, one of which will be located in the northern suburbs and one in the center of Athens. With the new store in Glyfada, the total number of Masoutis stores in Attica now comes to 58.
