Greek national debt at 172.5% of GDP

Greece’s public debt totaled 356.597 billion euros, or 172.6% of GDP, in 2022, the Hellenic Statistical Authority said in a report sent to Eurostat on Monday.

The report also showed that the country’s gross domestic product totaled €206.62 billion in 2022, while the general government’s result was a deficit of €4.9 billion (based on ESA 2010).

The statistics service said that due to updated data, the public debt grew by 1.3% of GDP (from €171.3 billion to €172.6 billion) and the general government deficit fell by 0.1% of GDP.
