ATHEX: Small losses for the week in bourse
Blue chips led the benchmark at Athinon Avenue to a rise on Friday after three days of drop, with a turnover that was the lowest of the last 11 sessions. That rebound was not enough to offset all of the previous days’ losses, so the main index recorded a week of decline after four weeks of growth.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 1,217.86 points, adding 0.73% to Thursday’s 1,209.05 points. On a weekly basis it shied 0.25%.
The large-cap FTSE-25 index expanded 1.02% to end at 2,953.60 points, and the banks index improved 1.08%.
Alpha Bank grew 3.02%, Viohalco grabbed 2.86% and Jumbo collected 2.73%, while Ellaktor parted with 3.52% and Lamda Development gave up 2.20%.
In total 66 stocks showed gains, 38 suffered losses and 15 remained unchanged.
Turnover amounted to 86.7 million euros, down from Thursday’s €110.3 million.
