Aegean Costumes | Thessaloniki | To June 30

Diana Wardle presents a series of experimental reproductions of Aegean clothing worn in the Late Bronze Age, produced with the same kind of materials and traditional methods used during the period, at the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki. Wardle is an honorary research fellow at the University of Birmingham, a member of the British School at Athens, an expert in Greek prehistoric archaeology, an artist and a costume and exhibition designer, who studied wall paintings, miniature sculptures and the weaving technology of the vertical loom in order to create this collection, which reproduces the clothing worn by the Minoans and Mycenaeans. The show runs through June 30 and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission costs 8 euros.
