City Life | Athens | To January 14
The NEON cultural organization has invited visual artist Kostis Velonis to create an in-situ installation that sheds light on the story of a neoclassical building in downtown Athens. Titled “A Puppet Sun,” the Greek artist’s project uses a variety of media to delve into the building’s history and all the different purposes it served in the past – including as home to Pavlos Kountouriotis, the first president of the Second Hellenic Republic, as a political meeting place, a literary hangout and a student club before the Second World War. Doors are open Wednesdays through Sundays from noon to 8 p.m.
