The Panorama of European Cinema turns 30 this year and continues to celebrate the continent's amazing contribution and legacy to the art of film, with tributes to Luchino Visconti and black-and-white cinema among several special events planned along with the main screening schedule. There will be four avant-premieres, including Travis Mathews's “Discreet,” nine entries from different parts of the world in the competition section, three special screenings, and a focus on the output of the European Film Academy on the occasion of its 30th anniversary. Screenings take place at the Aavora (180 Ippocratous) and Elli (64 Academias) cinemas, and a detailed program is available at www.panoramafest.org.
