Hawkins & Stones | Athens | October 16
The Gagarin 205 venue’s tribute to great music documentaries continues on Monday, October 16, with screenings on Screamin’ Jay Hawkins and the Rolling Stones. “I Put a Spell On Me,” which will be screened at 7.30 p.m., is directed by Nicholas Triandafyllidis and goes behind the scenes during Hawkins’s appearance in Greece just four months before the rock n’ roll legend died of a heart attack in France in February 2000. “Crossfire Hurricane,” screening at 10 p.m., was released in 2012 and chronicles the early days of the Rolling Stones, up until 1981. Directed by Brett Morgan, it was created to celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary. Admission to both screenings is free of charge.
