Byzantine & Ottoman Music | Athens | July 3
Ney virtuoso and UNESCO Artist for Peace Kudsi Erguner and Greek lyra master Sokratis Sinopoulos join forces with the 20-member Tropos Byzantine Choir and a 10-strong ensemble of Turkish singers of religious music for a concert at the open-air Herod Atticus Theater on Monday, July 3. The show will cover a wide range of Eastern material, going back to Byzantine music that originated in the mid-10th century and up all the way to the Ottoman years. The performance starts at 9 p.m. and tickets cost 12-35 euros.
