William Kentridge | Athens | To June 30

Acclaimed South African artist William Kentridge presents a 40-meter caravan of shadows extending over eight screens, reminiscent of a medieval danse macabre, every night at 9.30 p.m. through June 30 on the Dionysiou Areopagitou promenade, just a few meters from the Acropolis metro station. Titled “More Sweetly Play the Dance,” the video installation explores the themes of displacement and exodus, all the more poignant now due to the refugee crisis. The show is part of the Greek Festival and is free of charge.
