Spanish filmmaker Victor Erice's 1983 melancholy “El Sur” (The South) will be screened as part of the Athens Open-Air Film Festival on Monday, June 26, in the garden of the Numismatic Museum in the city center. In this cryptic gothic thriller, the acclaimed director tells the story of a 15-year-old’s girl quest for the truth about the life, whereabouts and fate of her father, a man she grew up regarding as an almost mythical figure. The screening starts at 9.30 p.m. and admission is free of charge.
