The Greek Festival presents the Ergon Ensemble, comprising talented soloists who specialize in the work of contemporary Greek composers, and acclaimed Dutch conductor Kasper De Roo in an evening of works selected around the theme of “Madness” on Saturday, June 24. The program comprises Iannis Xenakis’s “Cassandra” from the opera “Oresteia,” Thomas Larcher’s “My Illness Is the Medicine I Need,” based on inner monologues of psychiatric patients, and Peter Maxwell Davies’s “Eight Songs for a Mad King,” exploring the mental illness of King George III of the United Kingdom.
