Thessaloniki’s Museum of Film celebrates this year’s International Museum Day with a special treat for classical cinema enthusiasts. On May 18 from 8.30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and on May 19 from 8.30 a.m. until 10 p.m., visitors to the museum will be able to have a guided tour of the museum and the exhibition “Without a Knife and Fork,” which focuses on the subject of food in Greek cinema. On May 19 at 8 p.m. Polish director Pavel Pavlikovski’s Academy Award-winning film “Ida” will be screened, taking viewers back to 1962 Poland and giving them a look into the life of an orphan girl who, on the eve of becoming a nun, finds out she is Jewish. Admission is free.
