The Theama (Theater for People with Disabilities) company performs Aeschylus’ “Persians” at the Greek National Theater’s Experimental Stage on Wednesday, July 13, and Thursday, July 14. The troupe is the only professional theater company in Greece that comprises mostly actors with disabilities. “The Persians,” Aeschylus’ oldest surviving drama (472 BC), is directed by Vassilis Economou and features folk singer Yiota Vei as the chorus leader. The production, which will be interpreted into Greek sign language, is part of the Greek Festival and shows start at 9 p.m. Admission costs 10 euros (5 euros reduced). Tickets for Greek Festival events can be purchased online as well as at the festival’s box offices (39 Panepistimiou, inside the arcade, open Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and the Herod Atticus Theater on Dionysiou Aeropagitou St (open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. & 6-9 p.m. daily).
