Aida | Athens | June 10-15
The Greek National Opera presents a new production of Verdi's “Aida” at the Herod Atticus Theater in Athens. Performances take place on June 10, 11, 12 and 15. The production, directed by Enrico Castiglione, is presented within the framework of the Greek Festival and was previously staged at the Taormina Opera Festival. Alternating in the role of Aida is Cellia Costea and Anda-Louise Bogza, while Dario di Vietri and Francesco Anile alternate as Radames. Also taking part in the production is the Greek National Opera Orchestra, Choir and Ballet. Greek National Opera maestros Myron Michailidis and Elias Voudouris take turns as conductors. In Italian with English and Greek surtitles. Performances start at 9 p.m. Prices for tickets range from 25 to 100 euros (15 euros reduced).
