The Barber of Seville | Athens | February 13-28
The Greek National Opera presents a new production of Gioachino Rossini’s “Barber of Seville” at the company’s Olympia Theater. Performances run from February 13 to 28. A co-production with the Municipal Theater of Bologna, the opera is directed by Francesco Micheli. Tenors Antonis Koroneos and Dimitris Kassioumis alternate in the role of Count Almaviva, while sopranos Vassiliki Karayanni and Mina Polychronou take on the role of Rosina and baritones Dionysios Sourbis and Haris Andrianos alternate as Figaro. The National Opera Orchestra will be conducted by Miltos Logiadis and Konstantinos Diminakis. Prices for tickets, which are on sale at the theater’s box office, range from 15 to 60 euros. Performances start at 8 p.m.
