Lord Byron & Mesolongi | Athens | January 16-23
The Zoumboulakis Galleries’ Kolonaki venue presents “Mesolongi and Lord Byron,” an exhibition featuring works by contemporary artists exploring the multifaceted personality of the British poet, who died in the Greek city after joining the Greek revolutionaries in their quest for independence from the Ottomans. The exhibition was first presented at the Christos and Sofia Moschandreou’s Aitoloakarnania Contemporary Art Gallery and is part of its “The City of Mesolongi Today Through Art” series of shows. Taking part in the exhibition is Yiannis Adamakis, Miltos Golemas, Harris Kondosphyris, Jenny Kodonidou, Achilleas Papacostas, Sophia Papacosta and Manolis Charos. Opening hours are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
