Mario Merz | Athens | To January 31
The Cycladic Museum in Athens is hosting an exhibition of works by Mario Merz (1925-2003), a leading member of the Arte Povera movement. The show is organized by cultural organization Neon in association with Fondazione Merz. The title of the exhibition, “Numbers Are Prehistoric,” derives from the artist’s book, “I Want to Make a Book Right Now,” while the works demostrate his need to be involved in art, politics and life. The display runs through January 31. Opening hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
