German maestro Christoph Poppen leads the Athens State Orchestra, soprano Karen Leiber, mezzo Ingeborg Danz, tenor Jenish Ysmanov and bass Petros Magoulas in what promises to be a stirring performance of Beethoven’s “Missa Solemnis,” considered one of the composer’s greatest pieces. The performance is taking place at the Athens Concert Hall (megaron.gr) and is part of the institution’s special program for the Easter season.
