Lopez’s April Athens show is postponed

Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming concert at the Karaiskaki Stadium, scheduled to take place on April 29, has been postponed until May 17. Greek fans of the Puerto Rican superstar, who apart from being a singer is also a dancer, an actress and a designer, will have to wait 18 more days to see her perform on stage. It was due to great demand that Lopez had to reschedule her tour. The tickets that have already been sold are valid and other than the date, no other changes have been made regarding the venue or the time of the concert (it will start at 9.30 p.m., as scheduled). As has been announced, there will be 250 people working at the stadium on the night (ticket inspectors, ushers and others) for the public’s convenience. This will be Lopez’s sole concert in Europe. She will stay at a hotel in the city center, accompanied by her entire entourage; the hotel’s 10 suites will be decorated with white bedsheets and roses. The program will include all of the pop star’s hits, from her first album «On the 6» (released in June 1999) to the recent one, «Rebirth.» Only two days after Jennifer Lopez’s concert, on May 19, four representatives of the Cuban music scene, members of the Buena Vista Social Club, will give a performance at the Kerameikos venue. Cachaito, Guajiro Mirabal, Manuel Galban and Jesus Ramos will come all the way from Havana, joined by an 11-member orchestra, to play hits from their 1996 recordings but also from their award-winning solo work. The absence of Ibrahim Ferer, who passed away in 2003, will be felt, but the band, featuring Cachaito Lopez, who has played on every song of all the band’s albums, promises a magical journey to the exotic melodies of the Caribbean to all those who will go to Kerameikos for what will be a special performance.
