Rockwave with Franz Ferdinand
Every day that goes by, summer looks even more promising regarding upcoming concerts. The latest news is that top British band Franz Ferdinand will be in Athens on July 11, to open the 10th Rockwave Festival. Frontman Alex Kapranos and his popular band will meet up with the Dandy Warhols, Britain’s Editors, Spain’s Sunday Drivers and others, at the Terra Vibe stage in Malakassa. The 10th Rockwave Festival is being hailed by its organizers as the greatest celebration of the summer. Franz Ferdinand will come equipped with their latest and highly successful album, «You Could Have It So Much Better.» Band members Alex, Bob, Nick and Paul are hoping to get everyone dancing, at least that was their initial aim. They do not like repeating themselves, nor do they enjoy compromising. As for us, it will be difficult to wait to hear hits like «Walk Away,» «The Fallen,» «Outsiders» and «Fade Together» live. So far, the Rockwave Festival looks like an exciting event; the Dandy Warhols have a reputation for turning their concerts into huge parties, the Editors have been described as «the successors» and we all know the Sunday Drivers through their hit «On my Mind.» What remains to be announced is the program of the festival’s second day, the «hard rock» day, on July 12.
