‘Leaves and Feathers’ at Thiseion

Springtime is turning out to be a fruitful time for dance in this country, with numerous local troupes finding temporary homes – and subsequently, stages – here in order to renew their ties with their devoted audiences. In this light, the Dalika Dance Theater is scheduled to perform its «Leaves and Feathers» production at the Thiseion Theater beginning tomorrow and running to April 16. Daily life A dance theater performance based on the notion of choreographing daily life, «Leaves and Feathers» narrates the story of two friends who grow up together and then go their separate ways. The production was first presented last October. The Dalika Dance Theater was established in 2004 by dancer and choreographer Vasso Giannakopoulou and light specialist Tassos Paleoroutas. «Leaves and Feathers» was choreographed by Giannakopoulou, based on a script by Vassilis Pananidis. More dance awaits audiences at the Roes Theater on Sundays, where the X-art dance troupe presents «They Lived Happily Ever After,» until April 16. Written especially for the troupe by Yiannis Kalantzopoulos (who takes on the role of a salesman of old books), the choreography was executed by Katerina Andriopoulou, accompanied by an original music score by Nikos Pardalakis. Through the use of an abstract dance language, the production tells of what happened to our fairy-tale heroes (think Pinocchio, Don Quixote, Peter Pan and others).
