Bob Dylan bringing tour to Athens

Yet another very special concert has been added to what is already a very promising summer on the music front. Bob Dylan will visit Greece this summer as part of his «Never Ending» tour. We already know that he is scheduled to be in Athens in mid-July, but the precise date and the location of the upcoming concert have yet to be announced. So prepare yourself to listen live to hits such «Blowin’ in the Wind,» «Mr Tambourine Man» and «I Can’t Leave Her Behind» and for the highlights of 20 albums rendered entirely differently from their album versions. This will be the third time that Bob Dylan has visited Greece toting his guitar and harmonica. At present, we know that two concert organizers are fighting to gain the favor of the company that manages the rocker’s concerts. As for Dylan himself, he has every reason to feel like the absolute king of folk-rock music with the release of his autobiography, and Martin Scorsese’s four-hour documentary on him and having just come out of the studio from recording a new album. Dylan will be in the USA until mid-June and, at the end of the month, will play in Ireland, Wales, England and Denmark. At the beginning of July, he will be in Germany and France and on July 14 he has scheduled an appearance in Italy. That is where the official information on his website ends, leaving the remaining July dates open. Dylan, who is not a great fan of publicity, gave his last long interview to Scorsese. He is not particularly fond of being recognized, as he confessed in his autobiography, in which he also explains how he would like and would not like to be treated. Still, there is a chance we might inspire him for his next album, since he says that every time he travels he thinks of a new melody, lyrics, poetry and words.
