New award for Keeley
Hellenic Public Radio-Cosmos FM (HPR) is to present Edmund Keeley with its 10th annual Phidippides Award, reports the latest Greece in Print news bulletin. Keeley, a noted philhellene, writer, translator and critic, who has received numerous prizes and distinctions in the past for his work, will receive this latest honor at an HPR gala benefit tomorrow night at the Hilton Hotel in New York City. The Phidippides Award goes to an individual or organization «who has demonstrated a profound record in the promotion and preservation of Hellenism, particularly on a global scale.» HPR is a non-profit corporation that preserves and promotes Hellenism in the United States and worldwide, and is the flagship radio service of the Greek American Educational Public Information System.
